Theme: Digital Art: The Next Frontier
The 6th edition of Uganda’s annual Comic convention of Illustrators, Animators and Video Gamers dubbed DigiArt Fest is here. This year’s theme being “Digital Art, The Next Frontier” happening on the 16th and 17th of December at Acacia mall (Download Floor Plan). The festival is expected to bring skills of creatives in Animation, Comics & Video Games together under a common objective of uplifting the industry of digital art in Uganda.
This year’s edition will be opened with a game jam for video game developers from Uganda and beyond her borders to create games that will be shared publicly on the www.tribe.ug website portal. Exhibitions from comic book artists and animators will be showcased.
We are proud to have amongst us Ugandan Disney directors who will be on panels alongside key industry practitioners from Uganda and abroad to discuss matters concerning the industry today. Cosplay and video game tournaments will also be conducted with prizes for emerging winners. The event gives a chance for digital artists to interact with prospects and supporters both at the venue and the website portal. We look forward to entertaining, educating and inspiring the masses.
The first edition happened in 2017 and has over the years attracted thousands of visitors from all walks of life who have witnessed first hand creativity from Uganda’s finest. This includes business owners, students, artists , gamers, art enthusiasts, lovers of pop culture among others.
The aim of the Digiart Fest is to promote collaboration amongst digital content creators and businesses from other sectors and a platform to showcase skills and production processes. The annual Comic Con event continues to grow bringing together guests of all ages and lovers of pop culture. Entrance to the festival is only UGX 15,000 per day payable at the venue.
